Overview

The Kaysville Kids Trail Race is a fun, challenging youth trail race designed to help kids build confidence, endurance, and determination. Participants may choose either the 1-mile race or the 5K race based on their ability, experience, and comfort level.

This event is open to kids ages 4 to 14. Any eligible child may sign up for either distance.

Results and recognition may be published following the event.


Eligibility

Ages: 4–14

Kids may register for either:

1-Mile Kids Trail Race

 or

 5K Kids Trail Race

Parents should choose the distance that best matches their child’s ability, safety, and experience level.


Parent / Guardian Policy

Parents or guardians may run with their child if needed for safety, encouragement, or support.

However, the trail must remain clear for official runners. Only registered runners and approved accompanying parents/guardians should be on the race trail during the event.

Non-runners, spectators, and family members must stay off the race course to help keep the trail safe and clear.


Check-In

Check-in opens: 7:30 AM

All participants must check in before starting their race. Race staff will confirm registration and provide any necessary race instructions.


Course Rules

Participants must follow the designated course at all times.

Course cutting, shortcuts, or leaving the marked route is prohibited.

Runners must remain self-propelled at all times.

Parents may run alongside their child, but may not carry, pull, tow, or physically assist them forward for official completion.

Runners should stay aware of other participants and use caution on the trail.

Safety, control, and good sportsmanship are required at all times.


Safety

This is a trail race. Kids should be careful while running, especially on hills, uneven ground, turns, and areas with other runners.

Participants should:

Wear proper running shoes

 Stay on the marked course

 Listen to race staff and volunteers

 Slow down when needed

 Be respectful of other runners

 Use caution around trail edges, hills, and turns

APX staff and volunteers may remove or stop a participant if there is a safety concern.


Hydration

Participants are encouraged to bring their own water.

Water may be available on or near the course, but runners should come prepared, especially if participating in the 5K.


What Finishers Receive

Official finishers who complete the full course and follow all race rules will receive:

 Official finisher status

 Placement on the public results leaderboard, if applicable

 Post-event recognition through APX results and media coverage, as available


DNF / Disqualification Policy

Participants who do not finish the full course, leave the marked route, or are disqualified for rule or safety violations will be listed as DNF or disqualified.

DNF and disqualified participants do not receive finisher awards.

Finisher T-shirts and medals are reserved for verified finishers only.
